I wanted to see first hand what all the ruckus was about, went down near Times Square to one of the Verizon buildings to interview and document the Strikers. I can tell it is not easy, not getting paid and striking for 8 hours a day. It is physically and mentally exhausting but if you really want CHANGE you have to fight for it and express it, no matter what others might think of you. The crowd of people walking by where very supportive of the strikers. What I feel about Verizon and the Unions are mixed, they both come from a big money and both have their hands in corruption. The meaning of the Union I think is almost lost, based on the facts that people take advantage of the Unions. But the spirit to protest and fight for what you believe is strong with some. As a whole of the nation we have lost what it means to strike and voice ourselves because we are afraid what others might think of us/just too lazy to do it ourselves or don't take the time to do the research.
